My Motivation

My Background

42+ years recovery experience plus 30+ years counseling experience as an addiction and family therapist, combine to help me listen deeply to potential clients as they tell the story of what is working and what is not. I ask, "What are you seeking -- what is in the deepest part of your self?"

Ongoing Endeavors

As a practictioner of yoga and mindfulness meditation, listening deeply and the usefulness of silence are deeply engrained in my daily living. Through membership in the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), Silence figures centrally in my decision-making and I have long practiced conflict-resolution and peace-making in my personal life and a practice with others.

Past Achievements

For 36 years, I worked in the fields of addiction, mental health and family therapy, assisting individuals, couples and families in finding new avenues to health, better relationships and recovery from alcoholism and addiction! I have also worked with non-profit organizations and church groups to facillitate conflict resolution. I believe as Gandhi spoke that there is no way to peace, peace is the way. Love is the method.

My real peace and love comes from my gardens, my farm and of course, my beloved animals and family, without whom there would be no peace. I always return to my favorite saying: When the world wearies, and society ceases to satisfy, there is always the garden! (Minnie Aumonier)
